Bankruptcy

Have you had a Bankruptcy?  We can help!  Many consumers do not realize that all accounts that have been included in Bankruptcy must be reported to the Bureaus as a $0 balance once the Bankruptcy has been discharged.

Creditors are not motivated to report this to the Bureaus and leave this inaccurate information on the consumer's file indefinitely - which negatively affects your score.  We can correct that account information with Trans Union, Experian, Equifax and Innovis.

Bankruptcy information  is located in two sections of a credit report.

First in the Public Record section as "Bankruptcy" and then in the Tradeline section under the name of the original creditor.  Even if your Bankruptcy is dismissed, it will still show up in the Public Record section of the file.  Once a public record has been recorded, it cannot be deleted at the court or registry level.

Bankruptcy:       Chapter 7 - Reports 10 years

                                 Chapter 13 - Reports 7 years *

* Chapter 13 repayment plans -  Creditors may still report  payment history on your file as "late" until the full settlement is satisfied.
